CSS Web Standards Design Examples

Louisville Web Group subscribes to the philosophies of the W3C and the Web Standards Project.

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), along with other groups and standards bodies, has established technologies for creating and interpreting web-based content. These technologies, which we call “web standards,” are carefully designed to deliver the greatest benefits to the greatest number of web users while ensuring the long-term viability of any document published on the Web. Designing and building with these standards simplifies and lowers the cost of production, while delivering sites that are accessible to more people and more types of Internet devices. One of the best things about hand-coding in CSS Web Standards is that designers can really let the creative juices flow because an artist has so much more control over the html image that displays on a computer monitor.  As a result, our designers have created exceptional designs that function beautifully online.

Here is one of our first projects in CSS Web Standards, for Jefferson Yacht Company.  Since 1982, Jefferson Yachts has set industry standards for design engineering, quality, and reliability among discriminating buyers of fine yachts. Jefferson Yachts now manufactures five different series of yachts – Marquessa Yachts, Rivanna Yachts, Pilothouse Yachts, Starship Yachts and Marlago Sport Yachts. And, although styles and purposes vary greatly, each yacht is built to Jefferson’s standards of unmatched attention to detail and an unwaivering deducation to luxury.

Jefferson Yachts has achieved extraordinary online success, with scores of international buyers and a worldwide dealer network. Jeffersonyachts.com features a .NET platform engine to execute their custom developed Build Your Own Yacht program that runs on the back end.

Another website developed by Louisville Web Group that we really like is a site we developed for Luxury Auto Wholesale. Luxury Auto Wholesale is a website that will allow dealers, wholesalers and owners a forum through which they can market luxury cars and other vehicles. This website has a PHP engine that allows the administrator to manually enter in vehicle data.

The second launch coming in summer will allow anyone to list their luxury car for sale, make their payment online and upload their own data, photos, videos, sponsor display ads and a host of additional e-commerce features.

E-commerce development is an integral part of Louisville Web Groups menu of services. But we do e-commerce much differently than the competition because we believe online sales results can be greatly enhanced by focusing on user experience and expectations and then meet or exceed them.

We had the opportunity to work with one of the world’s largest and most successful e-tailers, Swiss Colony, last winter on a project for one of their subsidiaries, Maverick Wine Company. For the first time in their history, Swiss Colony was going to market wines to accompany their extraordinary holiday gift baskets.

This presented Louisville Web Group with two dilemmas. First, the website had to be completely separate from Swiss Colony, but the e-commerce elements had to be able to interact effectively with Swiss Colony’s engine. And secondly, the website had to have a different, yet complementary look and feel. Well, as you can see, we met with extraordinary success and the website will continue to produce revenue for its owners and profits for Swiss Colony for years to come.
