Canton City School District
The Canton City School Discrict is one of the eight largest school districts in Ohio, offering a wide variety of strong academic, vocational, athletic, fine arts and other extracurricular activities. They are a forward thinking district, but their series of websites were showing their age and failing to communicate properly with their customers and constituents.
They desired a partner to help them develop a fresh, modern look and update their old Drupal 4.6 system to take advantage of more recent technology. With over 20 schools each needing their own website, the project needed to be managed carefully. Louisville Web Group partnered with V-Soft Consulting Group in helping the district achieve their goals.
What We Did:
- Custom design for the main district site
- Custom designs for the two high schools, McKinley and Timken
- Upgrade from Drupal 4.6 to Drupal 6.22
- Multi-site installation for over 20 websites
- Generic Drupal theme for middle and elementary schools, set up with background and outline color presets that they can select via dropdown box.
- Ability for District site news to filter down automatically on the other school sites
- Ability for school events to to automatically display on the District master calendar, each school with its own color
- Setup of submenus for internal pages, making them easy to edit
- Easy management of Featured content on front page
