Position: Designer and Front End Developer

Louisville Web Group is seeking a passionate and talented designer and front-end developer. If you enjoy working on a variety of projects, and strongly believe in the potential of a well-crafted website, this is the job for you.

This position carries with it a lot of potential and opportunity for the right person. You would have a chance to influence the direction, branding, mission, and culture of a growing company.

Key Responsiblities

  • Work with VP of Development to determine the best visual presentation of clients’ company, services, and/or products.
  • Adequately solve problems and meet goals with design.
  • Based upon client feedback, help plan and develop site architecture and appropriate navigation, as needed.
  • Work with VP of Development to determine the best technological resources to apply to meet each client’s online goals.
  • Understand at all times that the company's profitability is the driving issue with regard to job stability and long-term employment.
  • Represent the company at social functions as requested by the company.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the VP of Development and the President as to the status of each project.
  • Convert design mockups into functional websites.
  • Adhere to agreed-upon budgets and timescales.
  • Implements time-sensitive updates to web sites at client's request.
  • Stay up to date on new technology and methods, and be able to advise colleagues and clients.
  • Brainstorm content ideas for marketing.

Required

  • Experience with web usability and design best practices, including responsive design.
  • You can take client needs and help create design solutions in Photoshop, Illustrator, or your preferred tools. You can ask the right questions to determine proper goals and objectives.
  • A portfolio of work that we can look at.
  • You can turn a design mockup into a functional website. Demonstrated experience with HTML/CSS. Knowledge of a CSS preprocessor like SASS is preferred.
  • Experience with JQuery and Javascript
  • At least a passing knowledge of PHP
  • Perhaps most important: a passion for your work, and a strong desire to improve and learn more.

What Will Really Impress Us

  • You will have made contributions to open source projects
  • You have an active blog, or you will have a written on a variety of topics, and show a skill with written communication
  • You have demonstrated experience with Drupal
  • You have designed/ and or developed your own projects or apps
